Building Confidence: How Our Youth Club Helps Teens Thrive

How IQ Centre’s Youth Club helps teenagers build confidence, friendships and direction.

Being a teenager isn’t easy. Between school pressure, changing friendships and figuring out who you are, it helps to have somewhere outside of home and school that just feels like yours. That’s really what our Youth Club is for.

It’s open to ages 11 to 18 and meets weekly, mixing sports, mentorship and the occasional group trip. There’s no rigid script to it, teens get room to try things, mess up, and find their feet among people who actually get what they’re dealing with.

The mentors aren’t just there to supervise. Most of them take a real interest in how each young person is doing, whether that’s helping with exam stress or just being someone to talk to.

Parents tell us the change isn’t always obvious at first, but it shows up eventually, in how their teen carries themselves, how they handle a bad day, how much more willing they are to try something new.

If that sounds like something your teen could use, we’d be glad to have them.
